HOW TO LASH YOUR EYE SHAPE

At Herr Beauty, we know that people's eye shape can be surprisingly varied. When buying lashes, it is important to know which eye shape you have and which lash style looks best on certain eye shapes.

Monolid Eyes If you don't have a crease (an indentation at the top of your eyelids), your search ends here – you have monolid eyes.

Monolids are the blank canvas of eye shapes! Our recommendation would be to shy away from dense lashes that will weigh your eyelids down. Instead, get some drama with a light criss-crossed lash like Herr Scandal or Herr Busy B lashes. You can play with different lash looks with this eye shape. The cat eye will add some drama, while a doll eye will make your eyes pop!

Almond Eyes When you look straight ahead at the mirror, if you can't see the whites of your eyes below the iris (the colored part), you have almond shaped eyes.

Anything goes if you have almond eyes! For a bold look, dress those eyes up with Monarch lash – the head of our collection! She’s bold and beautiful. Start with 10mm in the inner corner, and end with 14mm or 16mm on the outer corner. If you want something a little more reserved, the Herr Crown is a fan favorite. This lash works lovely with the Doll eye look – longest lashes in the center of the eye.

Round Eyes When you look straight ahead at the mirror, if you can see the whites of your eyes below the iris (the colored part), you have round eyes!

Avoid thick lashes that can overwhelmed and make your eyes appear smaller. You want to enhance the depth and open your eyes out even more by creating a beautiful cat eye look – longer on the outer corner. Suggested lash styles for this shape are Herr Crown, Herr Basic B, Herr Busy B, and Herr Highness.

Hooded Eyes If your eyelid crease is not visible when your eyes are open, then your eye shape is hooded.

This eye shape suggests mystery and seduction, think Blake Lively as Pippa Lee! A doll eye look is the best look to try to achieve if you have this eye shape – long in the center and tapered at both ends. A layered look with give this eye shape some dimension and the illusion of depth. The best lash style for this eye shape is our Crown lash – it has dimension that will leave your eyes looking big and bright. Other suggestions are Herr Basic B, Herr Highness, and Herr Scandal. The most important thing to remember when selecting a lash style for this eye shape is to look for a thinner flirtier lash, to avoid weighing your eyes down. Our segments are also great to add accents instead of a full lash set!!

Upturned Eyes If you placed a straight line across the center of your eyes and the outer corners by your temples are above the line, you have upturned eyes.

This eye shape is incredibly versatile! The bolder the better when it comes to lash styles for this eye shape. Our boldest lashes are Herr Monarch and Herr Queen V. Herr Paparazzi would be a top contender for this eye as well, giving a spikey false lash look! If you want something with a little less oomph, try Herr Crown or Herr Majesty lashes with longer lengths towards the outside edges.

Downturned Eyes If you placed a straight line across the center of your eyes and the outer corners by your temples be are below the line, you have downturned eyes.

Many movie stars like Marilyn Monroe and Katie Holmes have this eye shape, you do not want to cover this look up with heavy lashes. Go natural, with shorter lashes on the inner corner and longer to ¾ of the lid, shorter on the outer corner. For example: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 12mm, 10mm. The best lash styles for this look are: Basic B, Busy B, Scandal, and Crown. Don’t limit yourself to these styles, though, give the more dramatic lashes a chance. Just play with different lengths to find a combo that fits just right.

Herr Beauty has created a variety of different styles with varying curls in order to accommodate all eye shapes. Keep in mind, these suggestions are just that, suggestions. All said, our lashes are so versatile, they truly work on all eye shapes, you just need to work with different lengths to achieve the desired look.
